Why is humility so important?

We live in a world that is all about SELF—how you can improve, be more wealthy, look prettier, have more friends, be overall successful. If I’m honest, I spend most of my time thinking about…well…ME!

But as Christians, we must change. We look at Christ’s example. And Jesus “emptied himself, by taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men. And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross.” (Phil.‬ ‭2:7-8‬)

Pursuing humility means getting rid of SELF to look more like CHRIST. It’s hard and painful to deny our sinful and selfish desires. “But as he who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct.” (1 Pet.‬ ‭1:15‬)

To be holy is to be humble. Let’s pursue both together.
