To the one struggling to cast off sin

If there’s one thing that distracts us from our purpose in Christ, it’s the sin we actively justify and allow to seep into our lives. I’m guilty of this!

Here are a few thoughts and reminders I’ve processed as I begin a new month with a determination to cast off the sin in my life to the glory of God!

Be sure to look up each passage for further study and meditation.

Confession is important, to both God and a trusted friend so they can keep you accountable – 1 John 1:9, James 5:16

Remove known temptations and triggers from your life and routine – James 4:7

Don’t focus on “behavior altering” as much as placing your life in line with God’s commands – John 14:15-24

As temptations come, run to Christ, for He understands temptation and will give you strength – Hebrews 4:15

On this side of heaven, we won’t be perfect, but we strive to be holy because our Father is holy – Matthew 5:48, 1 Peter 1:15

Remember you are no longer ruled by your sin; Christ has made you a new creation and He has already won the victory – 2 Corinthians 5:17
