If there’s one thing that distracts us from our purpose in Christ, it’s the sin we actively justify and allow to seep into our lives. I’m guilty of this!
Here are a few thoughts and reminders I’ve processed as I begin a new month with a determination to cast off the sin in my life to the glory of God!

Confession is important, to both God and a trusted friend so they can keep you accountable – 1 John 1:9, James 5:16
Remove known temptations and triggers from your life and routine – James 4:7
Don’t focus on “behavior altering” as much as placing your life in line with God’s commands – John 14:15-24
As temptations come, run to Christ, for He understands temptation and will give you strength – Hebrews 4:15
On this side of heaven, we won’t be perfect, but we strive to be holy because our Father is holy – Matthew 5:48, 1 Peter 1:15
Remember you are no longer ruled by your sin; Christ has made you a new creation and He has already won the victory – 2 Corinthians 5:17
