We all have those people in our lives—they may be frustrating or disappointing, absent or a little too present.
Then there are those people we are jealous of who seem like they’re just too perfect. There’s the people who hurt us and the people we’d like to forget. Whether they are a close family member or a political figure or someone you’ve never even met…
You are called to pray for them.
I can’t imagine the scene when Jesus spoke these words:
“But I say to you, LOVE your enemies and PRAY for those who persecute you,” Matt. 5:44.
As believers, we are called to extend love, grace and prayer to those we consider enemies. What a challenging calling!
So the next time you think about that person, ask yourself, have you prayed for them?
